SEO Case Study · Healthcare / Podiatry · Adelaide

How a multi-location podiatry network built local-search visibility across a 22-clinic Adelaide footprint.

The practice started with two locations, no local SEO strategy and a website that could not support location-led growth. Digitum rebuilt the digital foundation, then rolled out a suburb-first local SEO system designed to scale with every new clinic.

01 / The situation

A growing clinic network with no search system behind it.

the podiatry network serves private patients and government-funded patients across Adelaide. Local discoverability matters because each clinic relies on people being able to find a nearby podiatrist when they are ready to book.

The business

Multi-Location Podiatry Network is a multi-location podiatry practice operating across Adelaide.

The practice serves private patients alongside NDIS, DVA, My Aged Care and bulk-billed GP Care Plan patients. When the engagement began, the business operated from two locations and had no established digital marketing strategy.

Before Digitum

Two clinics, an outdated website and no local-search visibility.

The existing site did not reflect the quality of care and was not structured to support separate clinic-location pages. The practice was heavily dependent on word of mouth and walk-ins, while patients searching locally had little chance of discovering the clinics through Google.

02 / The problem

The real problem was structural invisibility.

The challenge was not simply that the website ranked poorly. The digital structure could not support expansion into new suburbs without each clinic starting from zero.

01

No location-led search architecture

The website was not built around dedicated clinic-location pages, so individual suburbs had no clear organic-search destination.

02

No meaningful local-search presence

With only two locations and no local SEO programme, searches such as “podiatrist near me” were not consistently bringing the practice into view.

03

The website could not support the expansion plan

Every new clinic would have faced the same visibility problem unless the site, Google Business Profiles and local authority signals were rebuilt as one repeatable system.

03 / What we found

The strongest opportunity was not more content. It was better local structure.

The diagnosis pointed to a common multi-location problem: the business wanted to expand faster than the website and local-search structure could support.

SEO diagnostic

The site needed a scalable relationship between each clinic, its location page, its Google Business Profile and the suburb-level searches it was expected to serve.

Priority mapped
01
Technical foundation

Slow and dated website required a stronger base before SEO expansion.

02
Page architecture

No dedicated location-page framework for individual clinics.

03
Search intent

Appointment-intent searches needed suburb-level mapping.

04
Local presence

Google Business Profiles needed to scale with the clinic network.

05
Conversion

The website needed to reflect the practice better and make local booking routes clearer.

04 / The strategy

Build the foundation once, then let every new clinic compound it.

The strategy was designed around repeatability. A new clinic should launch into an established framework rather than requiring a completely new SEO plan every time.

Decision 01

Rebuild the website before scaling SEO

The existing website was replaced with a faster, conversion-focused structure capable of supporting multiple locations cleanly.

Decision 02

Use a location-page-first model

Instead of relying on one broad Adelaide page, each clinic received a dedicated location page aligned with the suburb it needed to serve.

Decision 03

Launch each clinic with its own local-search foundation

Every new location received a dedicated page, Google Business Profile and consistent local signals from the start.

Search architecture

One network, with a clear search role for every clinic.

Local SEO was organised around suburb-level search intent. Each location had a specific page and Google Business Profile rather than competing through one generic city-wide page.

05 / What changed

The implementation followed the same repeatable local-search system.

The work combined the website, Google Business Profiles, suburb-level keyword mapping, local rank tracking and consistent citation signals.

Phase 01

Website rebuild

Rebuilt the site to improve speed, conversion and the ability to support dedicated clinic-location pages.

Phase 02

Location-page rollout

Built individual location pages with suburb-specific content, LocalBusiness schema and location-focused calls to action.

Phase 03

Google Business Profile expansion

Optimised and managed 22 profiles with location-accurate categories, services, photography and review management.

Phase 04

Suburb-level keyword and grid tracking

Mapped appointment-intent searches and used grid-based local ranking audits to measure Share of Local Voice by clinic service area.

Phase 05

Local authority signals

Built consistent NAP citations for new clinic locations to strengthen local signals from launch.

06 / Results

Local visibility scaled with the clinic network.

Results were tracked at suburb level rather than averaged across Adelaide, making it possible to see how individual clinic service areas performed.

Across 10 tracked Adelaide locations, five achieved 86% to 100% Share of Local Voice for “podiatrist.” Port Adelaide, Pennington and Darlington held top-3 visibility across more than 90% of their tracked service grids.

Measurement period: January 2025 - ongoing. Local-search metrics were tracked at suburb level using grid-based ranking audits.

07 / What changed commercially

The network stopped treating every new clinic as a fresh SEO problem.

The business moved from two clinics with no local-search framework to a repeatable model that could support expansion across Adelaide. New clinics launched with a location page, Google Business Profile and local-search structure already defined, while existing clinics gained much stronger visibility within their individual service areas.
